Would You like to Be the Coolest Computer to Use in Your Household?

Thought so.  Here's what to do.

To print a file, normally people would launch the application and then print from there.  You don't have to do the first part of this because you can actually create a shortcut to your printer on your desktop and then drag documents to that.  It will start printing immediately and doesn't require the launching of any programme at all.

This can save you time but best of all it makes you look like you really know what you're doing with your computer.  If you want to create a shortcut of your printer just do this:

go to the start menu and click printers and faxes then holding down the control key drag your printer onto your desktop and whodunnits.  It's as easy as that.  Now, just take any file and drag its icon into the shortcut and the printer starts.

To take this to the next level and have people dropping their jaws in your presence why not check out this e-book.  It will show you how to add years onto the life of a slow computer and save you thousands over the long-run.  It shows users of any level how to increase the performance of their PCs.  In particular it can show you how to solve a computer that boots slowly and works slowly.   It receives my recommendation of the week.

Shortcut to Windows System Properties

try this: hold down the windows key and press pause/break.  It saves you finding my computer right clicking it and selecting properties. this is especially useful if you have a load of computers to check up on, or if your mouse stops working.

I know that it works on Windows XP and Windows Vista so it probably works on all versions but I haven`t checked them out yet.

if you`re interested, you can learn how to make your computer faster by streamlining your system.  This e-book has everything you need to know and is really easy to understand with clear photographs.  Check it out.

perhaps it's time the need to change to a Mac

the last couple of years I have gained a dedicated PC user, because I just love to overclocked my computers.  I love to get every ounce of power out of my components, especially when I don't have to pay any more for that extra oomph.

but in the personal computing arena, things are changing.  Macs are nowadays are lots more like PCs than ever before.  I have just read a report that shows that a mac pro can be overclocked with two quad core cpus to give it an amazing amount of processing power why not checkout this report for yourself if you're into this kind of thing:

I'm getting a new hard drive for my laptop

the other week I got a bad sector on my old hard drive.  It was a bit annoying, because the computer wouldn't even boot.  But now I am coming to terms with it and I'm looking forward to getting my new hard drive.  I had ordered a 7200 Rpm Drive with 80 ggs on it.  This is a much better unit than my old 4240 gig drive.

according to the forums, this will remove one of the biggest bottlenecks in my system.  I have already upgraded the Rama to 750 odd megabytes, so I think the hard drive was the obvious choice, even if it hadn't have gone wrong.

I'm looking forward to starting at Windows XP in almost half the time.  This is what the forums say can be achieved with this kind of performance.  I'm just hoping that it won't impact my back to life too much.

a computer tip worth its weight in gold

eventually every laptop will go wrong if it is used on a regular basis.  When the inevitable happens, then you should not let this get on top of you, because it can really drive a person insane.  One tip to help alleviate the pain is to have a removable hard drive on your laptop computer.  The problem is that if your computer fails to boot or just keeps crashing then you might just have to send it away.  The worst-case scenario is that you can't retrieve your data and have to send the hard disk away, along with the computer for repair.  It gives you much more flexibility, if you can remove the hard drive without having to open the case.  On the IBM ThinkPad laptops, this is possible by just removing one simple screw and then the hard drive will slide out.  I think this is a brilliant feature and by default, IBM ask customers to remove hard drives and batteries before sending away the machine.

slow computer repair process can absolutely be a nightmare, especially if you have a deadline coming up.  It can end up costing you thousands of dollars in lost time.

forget typing and start using voice recognition software
unless you are happy to use a slow computer, you really need to start thinking about voice recognition technology.  It`s bad enough when your PC takes forever to boot up, but when you have to manually type all of your tax to this is just not the way forward in my opinion.  In this modern age, I would recommend that you checkout Dragon NaturallySpeaking.

the computer industry just had a brainwave

ever wondered what the PC of the future might look like?  Well, you needn`t imagine any more because unveiled recently was a computer that can be controlled using nothing but your brain waves, just think of that.  You simply attach the device to your head and then it can be controlled (probably not very easily at this point in time) by what you think about. it was unveiled at a computer fair recently, according to one computer broadcast that I was listening to.

If this is the way things are going.  I am just a little bit concerned that what you think about should be a bit more private.  Perhaps a better idea would be a machine that would be controlled by your iris and may be your brain waves in conjunction.  You were just look at the thing you wanted to click on and think click.

I really hope that computers will be come so small that they will be able to be fitted to a pair of spectacles.  That way, the computer will be able to help you throughout your day, regardless of where you are in the world.  It should be quite an exciting future, if these gadgets, as I get to the stage of production.

wouldn`t you love to have a PC as fast as this one?

you should really check out this video that I just saw on YouTube-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTKc5A_p8gE

I can`t believe how fast he can launch applications, take photoshop for example - just a few seconds.this machine must have a seriously fast processor and an amazing graphics card, because it really spins those screensnalmost instantaneously.

This is a real revolution, back in the old days we used to have to put up with slow windows XP machines taking forever to boot up. hopefully these days are long gone.  I just hope that building a PC as fast as this one isn`t going to break the bank.

Looking at it one more time it almost seems like the video has been sped up to make the performance seen quicker.  I don`t think he would pull such a low trick, but I just can`t believe how much quicker it is that my windows XP machine.

Microsoft Windows now runs on OS X.

I am really excited by the news that OS X can now run Windows.this means that you can have your cake and eat it.  All the programs that Windows users enjoy are now available to Apple users to.

If you are going to go down this route you should really consider optimising windows XP performance by making some simple tweaks to your system.  Windows XP by default runs so many programs and services that are unnecessary, but you can switch these off if you know what you are doing.

The result is a much more sprightly windows XP performance.  Boot times are significantly reduced and you will notice that it uses less memory which means a faster more responsive experience.
